The Service Location Protocol is a service discovery protocol used to locate the devices and services in a local area network. Each device can be assigned in the network as a user agent, a service agent or a directory agent and has a unique Uniform Resource Locator. The SLP discovery must be configured to provide communication between the service agents, used to announce services and user agents that enable search for the services.
